Two pockets, both open, both sized to fit what you actually carry at the forge. The chest pocket on the black yoke holds chalk, a scriber, or a short punch at a height where you can reach it without looking down. The wide lower skirt pocket runs nearly the full width of the apron and will hold tongs, a file, a wire brush, and a handful of punches side by side without cramping. Nothing to snap, nothing to zip: just open and reach.

Straps and fit

Cross-back straps keep the apron weight distributed across the upper back and shoulders for the duration of a session. That matters more at the knee-length cut: a longer apron carries more leather, and a cross-back setup handles that weight more comfortably than a neck loop over a long heat. Chest-to-knee is the fullest front coverage a forge apron offers. The near-black yoke at the top puts extra visual and physical emphasis on the chest zone where sparks are most concentrated during hammer and anvil work. The rust-brown lower body covers the thighs and upper knee through quench work and low-angle swings. Full-grain leather is spark and heat resistant throughout both panels. Care and maintenance

Wipe both panels with a dry cloth after each session. Condition the cognac rust-brown lower body and the near-black yoke at the same intervals with a neutral conditioner so both tones age evenly. The rust-brown panels will develop their patina faster and more visibly than the dark yoke; that contrast between a worked lower half and a deep upper yoke is part of what makes this apron look better over time. Do not machine wash or soak. Store hung straight or flat, away from direct heat.
